This time, the third-generation Subaru Crosstrek junior crossover, whose American premiere took place only two months ago, became the “wild”. The design of the model has become even more brutal, the suspension has been revised, the ground clearance has been increased by installing longer springs and shock absorbers from 220 to 236 mm. The approach angle now reaches 20 degrees (+2.0) and the departure angle is 33 degrees (+2.9). Steel underbody protection was added, and 17-inch wheels with Yokohama Geolandar off-road tires were installed.

Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness is equipped with the most powerful 2.5 aspirated engine for this model (185 hp, 239 Nm) and a Lineartronic variator. The main gear is made shorter (4.11:1 instead of 3.7:1), as well as recalibrated off-road modes of the X-Mode electronic system (two of them are for soil and dirt). The rear differential is strengthened.

Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness Now the crossover overcomes the climbs better, the permissible weight of the towed trailer has more than doubled to 1588 kg. Railings on the roof are designed for a maximum load of 80 kg when driving and 317 kg of static load – you can install a tent for spending the night in nature. The screen of the multimedia system in the Wilderness version is taken from the top configuration – 11.6 inches. The trunk lid has lighting, an electric sunroof, electric driver’s seat adjustment and a powerful Harman Kardon audio system are available for an extra charge.

Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness The new Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness will appear at American dealers in the fall at a price of $32,000. The SUV will be produced at the Subaru plant in Indiana.
