The Subaru brand is synonymous with SUVs and, above all, with vehicles with extraordinary off-road performance thanks to its 4×4 traction system. The Japanese manufacturer has a very interesting proposal for the competitive compact SUV segment. This is the Subaru XV. A model that, in its last generational change, has released numerous new features. Among them, a name change.

The XV is a model that Subaru has been marketing far from European borders under the name Crosstrek. Finally, and with the entry on the scene of the new generation, the commercial name XV disappears to make way for the new 2021 Subaru Crosstrek Sport. A model that is called to play a leading role in the brand’s European (and global) offer.

Developed on an improved version of the SGP (Subaru Global Platform) platform, the new Crosstrek is known for being the SUV alternative to the fuel-efficient Subaru Impreza in the Subaru range. It measures 4.48 meters long and up to five adult passengers can travel inside with a high level of comfort. The wheelbase reaches 2.67 meters.

The new 2021 Subaru Crosstrek Sport falls into the C-SUV category. That is why you have to deal with a large number of models. However, the Subaru model has clearly differentiated itself from the competition thanks to its extraordinary off-road performance with symmetrical and permanent all-wheel drive technology. Among the main rivals of the new Crosstrek are the SEAT Ateca, the Peugeot 3008, the Nissan Qashqai, the Volkswagen Tiguan, the Suzuki S-Cross and the Ford Kuga.

The mechanical offer of the new Crosstrek varies depending on the market we are in. In Europe, the Crosstrek range will be marked by Subaru’s commitment to electrification. More specifically due to self-charging hybrid (HEV) technology. That is why the new generation of the Crosstrek follows in the footsteps of the XV.

The new 2021 Subaru Crosstrek Sport not only has a 4×4 traction system, it is managed through a Lineartronic automatic gearbox. As it is an electrified vehicle with hybrid mechanics, it bears the ECO environmental badge of the DGT (General Directorate of Traffic) with all the mobility advantages that this entails.

The new generation of the Crosstrek is manufactured at a Subaru facility in Ōta, Gunma (Japan). Most Subaru models are mass produced in Japan.
