The 2024 Subaru Legacy can be safely called a middle peasant of the segment. After an extensive facelift for the 2023 model year, which gave the sedan new styling and a wide array of options, the latest Legacy doesn’t get a lot of updates. Despite the mediocre power and driving characteristics, the car remains generously equipped with standard driver assistance functions and infotainment capabilities of the multimedia system. If your ideal vehicle is to have modest enough styling and enough comfort to get you to work, then the Subaru Legacy will be the perfect choice for many years to come.

2024 Subaru Legacy Technical characteristics

The Legacy model is offered with a choice of two engines and is common for all Subaru models with permanent four-wheel drive as standard. The standard engine of the model has a volume of 2.5 liters with a capacity of 182 horsepower and a torque of 176 Nm. This is an atmospheric opposed four-cylinder engine that, despite its unimpressive characteristics, accelerates the car to the first hundred kilometers in 8.0 seconds.

A more powerful 2.4-liter turbocharged engine is available for more expensive configurations. 260 horsepower under the hood and 270 Nm of torque can accelerate the sedan to the first hundred kilometers in 6.1 seconds.

Both power units are paired with a stepless CVT automatic transmission of the variator type. Regardless of which engine is installed under the hood of the new Subaru Legacy, the car retains its smooth ride with slightly improved dynamic characteristics compared to its predecessor.

Interior

The interior of the car visually seems much larger than its predecessor with an excellent all-round view from the driver’s seat. In the best traditions of the Japanese brand, the interior of the model is functional with the use of high-quality and well-chosen finishing materials. The basic configuration offers fabric seat covers, leather seats will be available in the more expensive Limited and Touring configurations.

The central console, like the hood space, has two options. In basic models, the Subaru Starlink multimedia information and entertainment system is made in the form of two 7-inch displays. In the Premium configuration, this layout is replaced by the latest 11.6-inch vertically oriented screen with touch controls. Both variations of the multimedia system support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Also, depending on the configuration, a stereo system with four or six speakers is installed in the car. The top versions of the model have audio from Harman Kardon with 12 speakers located around the perimeter of the cabin for the highest quality sound of your favorite music. The most unexpected decision from Japanese engineers was the additional equipment of the audio system with a CD player.
