Traditionally, the Subaru Legacy is equipped with a proprietary all-wheel drive system, which, depending on the version and market, can be symmetrical, with a connected rear axle or with a planetary center differential locked by an electro-hydraulic clutch. In the latter case, 55% of the traction “by default” is transferred to the rear axle.

The SubaruLegacy is powered by one of two petrol horizontally opposed power units: a 2.5-liter with 173 hp. With. (236 Nm), or a 256-horsepower in-line six with a displacement of 3.6 liters. The engines can be paired with a 6-speed manual transmission, a 5-speed automatic, or a Lineatronic CVT.

The Legacy’s lower body is kept as simple as possible to emphasize its solidity and confident ride. On the other hand, the streamlined cabin of the body gives a refined impression of sporty style. And the shine of chrome-plated body parts gives the new Legacy a luxurious and noble look. Chrome moldings along the perimeter of the side windows not only make the contours of the cab more clear, but also emphasize the tinted glass surface.

Among the innovative developments used in the Legacy model, it is worth noting the Lineartronic continuously variable transmission, representing a new generation of Subaru automatic gearboxes, as well as a new chassis design with an engine mounting frame.
