The SUV is built on a stretched and reinforced modular Subaru Global Platform (the Impreza and XV models are also built on it). The only power plant offered is a 2.4-liter boxer turbo engine that develops 263 hp. With. and 376 Nm of torque. It is paired with a Lineartronic V-chain variator with an imitation of 8 steps. The transmission is only all-wheel drive – it is Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive, which is already equipped in the “base” with the X-Mode electronic system (helps to navigate off-road). Also included in the basic configuration is the Active Torque Vectoring system, which brakes the wheel inside the turning arc for better handling.

The Ascent is available in four trim levels: base, Premium, Limited, Touring. The “base” includes 7 airbags, a set of EyeSight electronic assistants (automatic braking, adaptive cruise control and lane marking monitoring), 18-inch wheels, three-zone climate control, and a rear view camera. Richer trim levels offer blind spot monitoring systems and side traffic warning when leaving a parking space, adaptive LED headlights, 20-inch wheels, a panoramic roof, keyless entry, leather interior with electric drives, heated and ventilated front seats, navigation, front a camera with a viewing angle of 180 degrees, its own Wi-Fi, and a Harman Kardon audio system with 14 speakers.
