2015 Subaru Crosstrek Hybrid Owner's Manual
Like a good Japanese, it has finishing details that are often incomprehensible due to their insignificance and that make their interiors not complete and foolishly reduce the perceived quality. In this case we have a hook to secure the central rear belt when not in use that easily comes out of its housing and a bellows to cover the adjustment of the steering wheel that can be improved because it does not completely cover the mechanism.
The trunk whose benefits we have previously mentioned also has bad things, well only one, the total capacity. With 380 liters it is a bit tight. The same thing happens with the engine, which has its good but also bad things. The least good are its sound when cold and also at low speed. In addition, it lacks a little push at low revs and then starts to pull at 1,800 and begin to decline around 3,000.
The approved consumption is good, the actual consumption is around 6.5 liters, which is not a bad figure. But it is quite variable depending on the different ways of driving, if we decide to enjoy its power, consumption rises more than normal for diesels.
And to finish two ergonomic details. The driver’s seat has adjustment of the backrest inclination by points and not by millimeters. This failure is becoming widespread at a rapid pace and it seems to me to be a mistake on the part of the manufacturers who will surely save a lot of money by discarding the old roulette wheels that allowed you to choose your exact inclination. The other detail is that the interior mirror is a bit in the way of tall drivers and should be a little higher and forward or the seat cushion lower.
That’s it, these are the key positive and negative points that we have appreciated in the Subaru XV diesel.
